elcome to the Barony of Ildhafn, in the Kingdom of Lochac
(Australia & New Zealand)  

Here you will find information about the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) in Auckland (the City of Ildhafn) and Hamilton (the Canton of Cluain). 

ldhafn (and indeed the whole of the SCA) is a group of people interested in all things medieval and renaissance. We hold regular events where we participate in tournaments, dress like medieval and renaissance people, feast, dance and sing. Between events, most of us practice various arts & crafts, and pursue specialised areas of interest such as embroidery, armouring, sewing, heraldry, warfare, calligraphy, illumination, brewing & cooking. There are few historic crafts that one of us would not have touched on at some time.

Somewhat of a cross between medieval/renaissance reenaactment, role-playing, living history and a social/cultural club, the SCA has something for everyone. Our diverse interests mean that there's always something new to do and we can probably recommend someone to help you out with whatever aspect of pre-1600 life you might want to know about.
